Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of SikuruHathe (“SikuruHathe”, “we”, “us”), a marriage-proposal platform operated by Foxora. By creating an account or using the website you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who can use SikuruHathe

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to marry under the laws that apply to you.
  • Each person may hold only one account. You must register with your own true name, email, phone number and National Identity Card (NIC) number.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything done through your account.

2. What we are — and what we are not

  • SikuruHathe is an online platform where members and families publish marriage proposals and contact each other. We are not a marriage broker, matchmaker, agent or counsellor, and we are not a party to any relationship, engagement or marriage between members.
  • We review ads before they are published and may check details, but we do not and cannot verify every statement made by members. We do not guarantee that you will find a partner, that any member is who they claim to be, or that any information on the site is accurate.
  • You are solely responsible for your own decisions and safety. Always verify a person’s identity and family background yourself, meet first in public places, inform your family, and never send money to anyone you meet through the site.

3. Ads and content you post

  • You may post an ad for yourself, or for your son, daughter, sibling, relative or friend only with that person’s knowledge and consent. You confirm that you have the right to share every photo and detail you upload.
  • All information must be true, current and not misleading. Photos must show the person the ad is about.
  • You keep ownership of your content. You give SikuruHathe a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, resize, blur, watermark and otherwise process it to run and promote the service, for as long as it remains on the platform.
  • We may review, refuse, edit for formatting, hide or remove any ad or content at any time and for any reason, including after it was published. Edited ads go back for review before they are shown again.

4. Things you must not do

  • Post false, misleading, sexual, offensive, discriminatory or unlawful content, or impersonate anyone.
  • Harass, threaten, deceive, blackmail or request money from other members, or use the site for dating unrelated to marriage, commercial promotion, recruitment or any business purpose.
  • Copy, screenshot, download, share or publish other members’ photos, contact details or profile information outside the platform. Every full-resolution photo carries a hidden watermark linked to the viewing account, and leaks can be traced.
  • Collect member data by any automated means (scraping, bots, scripts), probe or bypass our security, rate limits or access controls, or interfere with the service.
  • Share or sell your account, or create a new account after we have suspended you.

5. Pro membership and payments

  • Pro membership is purchased by bank transfer. After paying, you upload the bank slip, and Pro is activated only after our team verifies the payment. Package prices, durations and features are shown on the Membership page and may change for future purchases.
  • Pro runs for the purchased number of days from activation. Renewing early adds the new days to your remaining time.
  • All payments are final and non-refundable once Pro has been activated, including for unused time, if you stop using the service, or if your account is suspended or removed for breaking these Terms — except where Sri Lankan law requires otherwise. If a payment cannot be verified, we will reject the slip and tell you why.
  • Submitting a fake, altered or someone else’s bank slip is fraud. We will terminate the account and may report it to the bank and the authorities.
  • Payment slips and payment records are financial records. They are kept permanently and are not deleted when an ad or account is deleted.

6. Contact details

  • Contact details are shown only to active Pro members, on request, within daily limits, and every reveal is logged. Use them only to discuss the marriage proposal respectfully. Misuse leads to immediate removal without refund.

7. Suspension and termination

  • We may suspend, restrict or permanently close any account, and remove any content, at our discretion and without prior notice, if we believe these Terms have been broken, a report has been made, or to protect members, the platform or the law.
  • You may stop using the service at any time and may delete your ads yourself. To close your account, contact us.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

  • The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, SikuruHathe, Foxora and their owners, staff and partners are not liable for the conduct of any member or third party, for any meeting, communication, relationship or marriage arising from the site, or for any indirect, incidental, emotional or consequential loss.
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three (3) months before the claim arose.

9. Indemnity

  • You agree to compensate and hold harmless SikuruHathe and Foxora against any claims, losses, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms or of anyone’s rights.

10. Changes to these Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use SikuruHathe after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
